Habit: Wild petunia is a short 12Ó tall hardy perennial that can withstand the hottest driest conditions.
The lavender blue flowers attract numerous pollinator insects.  It self sows readily from seed capsules
that catapult the seeds a considerable distance.  It commonly is found where there is poor soil and sparse vegetation
such as rocky outcrops, road cuts, dry open woodlands and sand plains.
It makes an ideal compact rock garden plant or plant in hot dry parking lot islands.
